This week is World Immunization Week around the world. Two of our bloggers, Melissa from Filling Our Bucket and Elizabeth from Documama are Champions for a global campaign to raise awareness and increase access to life saving vaccines to areas of the world where they are most needed.
That campaign is Shot@Life, a global initiative sponsored by the United Nations Foundation. And this week, Shot@Life celebrated a very big milestone.
Its first birthday!
In one year, Shot@Life Champions have traveled to Uganda to educate mothers and families about vaccines and their impact. They have helped them gain access to these vaccines if they wish. The number of Champions has grown to 415, and the number of global supporters to 192,972!
And we are not stopping.
Shot@Life is committed to saving lives in areas of the world where these initiatives are most needed. Shot@Life is committed to making a difference. Shot@Life is currently committed to eradicating polio, which is 99% eradicated worldwide. Shot@Life is committed to giving every child a shot at…
…a first smile…
…a first word…
…a first step…
…a first birthday…
…a baking disaster that tastes good anyway (see photo)…
…a full and happy life!
